Dear Parent/ Guardian,
A meeting will be held in the school this evening in the School Library to elect two parents from our parent body (one father, one mother) to the Board of Management. All are welcome and the meeting will begin at 7pm.
Our school was recently selected to participate in a pilot scheme (CLIL) whereby children in selected classes are taught a subject, or parts of a subject e.g. PE through Irish for eight week blocks. As we do quite a bit of this already, it should not come as a major shock to the children and we look forward to it.
The HSE screening of Junior Infants and new pupils has been deferred until the 9th and 10th December.
Cinderella, by the Letterkenny Pantomime Society, is scheduled for Friday, 24th January 2020 in the Aura Leisure Centre (please note the change of venue). As the school benefits from this, we ask you to support the event. Tickets @ €15 each or €25 for two are available from the School Office and would make ideal Christmas gifts.
The Christmas Concert Day is scheduled for Wednesday, 18th December.
Parent-teacher meetings are being held in the school this Thursday, 21st November. Pupils are not to be present on the school grounds during the meetings as we do not provide supervision.
We wish to thank-you for the magnificent response to the Sponsored Walk fundraiser; we were delighted to raise €2,600 for the school.
The local St Vincent de Paul organise hampers annually for local distribution at Christmas and respectfully request an item of non-perishable food donation from each family, if possible. Suitable donations include tinned foods, pasta, rice, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits/sweets, jelly, custard, cereals etc, paying attention to expiry dates. {Donations by Monday, 2nd December, please}.
Yours sincerely,
John Devenney.
