The school is delighted to note that we have received our fifth Green Flag Award (Biodiversity theme) at a presentation ceremony in the Radisson Hotel, Letterkenny on Thursday, May 9th 2019. The school was represented at the event by Mrs Doherty , Adrian (SNA), Clodagh, Rebecca and Aisling (pupils) .

We will raise the Green Flag at the school on Friday 31 May. Comhghairdeas le gach duine.

Our Second Class pupils had a great day when they celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in St Columba’s Chapel on Saturday, 13th May. Many thanks to all who contributed to the lovely ceremony and to the parents who organised a splendid Communion Tea in the School Hall.

There was a big turn-out of runners and walkers at the Kilmac 5k event on Tuesday, 7th May, with over 100 runners and over 250 walkers participating. Congratulations to the race winner, Peter O Donnell of Milford AC who completed the course in an impressive 16.48 while Monica Mc Granaghan of Letterkenny AC was the first lady home in a great time of 19.30. Well done to all.

Please note that

-Kilmacrennan Tidy Towns recently held an Art competition and will announce the winners on Tuesday of this week. First Lady, Susan Shields, Mayoress of the Barony of Kilmacrennan, will present the prizes.

-there will be a ‘Science is Magic’ show in the school on Wednesday, 10^th April from 1-2pm. There is a €2 charge per child, subject to a family maximum charge of €5.

-pupils will participate in the Letterkenny Gaelic League and the Letterkenny Debating League this week and we wish them well in both competitions.

-the Parents Association wish to remind anyone wishing to avail of the photographer for the First Holy Communion that they are to have money and return slip in the School Office by Wednesday 10^th April (not 15^th April as per original note). The parents are also organising a clothing collection on Monday, 13^th May; collection bags and information will be sent out this week.

-the Kilmacrennan 5k is scheduled for Tuesday, 7^th May at 7pm. We will host a meeting in the school after Easter to organise the event and would appreciate volunteers for the event.

-please note that the school will close next term on Friday, 24^th May for the election and referendum voting, and also on Monday, 27^th May (Staff Curricular Day).  

-we will hold an Easter Raffle on Friday. Prizes include a Value Centre hamper and Easter Eggs. Tickets are €2 per strip or €5 for three and can be bought any day this week.

– we will close for the Easter Holidays on Friday, 12^th April at 12 noon and re-open on Monday, April 29^th April 2019.

Fifth class pupils held a 45 min clean up of general litter in the school environs and on the Cottain Road recently, gathering 5 refuse bags of rubbish in that short period.
